Saint-Helena one of the most remote islands in the world, is about to lose it's isolation due to the arrival of an international airport. Over the course of three years we follow a few islanders, who call themselves Saints, as they’re trying to make sense of the changes that are coming their way. “Saints” is a film about a small place becoming part of a bigger world; a coming of age story about a small community growing up in a globalised world. A tale about our endless desire for an island and the understanding that such a place might perhaps only exists for the ones who see them from the sea. The film is a Storyhouse and Mosaic Film co-production and has already received substantial funding from the Flanders Audiovisual Fund. Recently I was awarded production funding which will allow me to revisit the island for three months in the autumn of 2014. Saints was also selected for Sheffield Meet Market 2014
